Robert Pena, a professional driver with Admiral Storage & Van, was recently awarded the first-ever TXTA Foundation Trade School Scholarship! Robert will receive a scholarship from the Foundation to continue his professional driver training education and to obtain his commercial drivers license (CDL).

“Robert has been an employee of Admiral Storage & Van for 11 years and throughout that time, he has proven to be a valuable and hard-working team member,” said John Willis, Owner of Admiral Storage & Van. “Thanks to the TXTA Foundation, he will be able to achieve his goal of obtaining his CDL and further his career. We are proud to have him on our team!”

In 2019, TXTA Foundation created a year-round trade school scholarship application process. Current employees or dependents or grandchildren of a TXTA member company are eligible to apply for a trade school scholarship. Through these scholarships, the Foundation aims to cultivate more professional drivers, mechanics and the many other skilled professions associated with the trucking industry.

In addition to the trade school scholarships, TXTA Foundation continues to offer scholarships to students pursuing degrees at schools across the country. Applications are currently open and will close on April 30, 2021. Interested applicants should apply on TXTA’s website
