TXTA Foundation announces scholarship recipients

AUSTIN, TX—Texas Trucking Association (TXTA) Foundation is pleased to announce $220,000 in scholarships to academic and trade and technical recipients. The Foundation awarded 37 academic scholarships for the 2023-2024 school year totaling $200,000 to deserving students across the country—all affiliated with TXTA member companies. In addition, the Foundation is providing a total of $20,000 to four trade and technical applicants—all who are pursuing careers in the trucking industry.

“Since the establishment of the scholarship program in 1991, the Foundation has awarded more than $2.3 million in scholarships to 658 students pursuing higher education or a career in the trucking industry,” said TXTA Foundation Chairman Brandon Woods. “The Foundation takes great pride in giving back to families who have kept this country moving forward and to individuals who are establishing roots in the industry that will keep us moving forward.”

Trade and technical scholarships are available year-round.  For more information on the TXTA Foundation Scholarship Program, please visit TXTA’s website. TXTA Foundation was established in 1978 to fund education and research projects for the Texas trucking industry. The Foundation is a non-profit educational, public relations, research and community service organization governed by a Board of Trustees. The mission of this all-volunteer organization is to work with TXTA member companies to fund educational and community service programs to enhance the understanding of and image of the Texas trucking industry, with the goal of positioning trucking as the most vital and necessary industry in Texas.
