Texas Trucking Association Honors Freightliner’s Peter Gunderson with 2026 Allied Appreciation Award

AUSTIN, TX - The Texas Trucking Association (TXTA) is proud to announce Peter Gunderson of Houston Freightliner, Western Star as the 2026 recipient of the Allied Appreciation Award. Now in its third year, this distinguished honor recognizes Allied Members for their exceptional contributions to TXTA and the trucking industry. The award celebrates individuals who exemplify dedication, professionalism, and service to the industry through their company’s expertise and support. 

Throughout his over 30 year career, Peter has built a reputation for exceptional customer service, helping motor carriers and fleet managers identify equipment solutions that strengthen their operations and support long-term success. An active member of the association, he serves on the TXTA Board of Directors and has been instrumental in the Houston Chapter, helping organize meetings and events that bring together industry leaders to address the challenges and opportunities facing Texas trucking. Recognized nationally with Freightliner's prestigious Leland James Award, he is widely respected for his professionalism, integrity, and dedication to the success of Texas motor carriers.

Gunderson was recognized by TXTA Chairman Kevin Mathews, President and CEO of GenOx Transportation during the Board of Directors Meeting at the TXTA Annual Conference in San Antonio, TX on July 30. “Peter is more than an allied partner to the association and industry, but a true and trusted friend to so many of us. His contributions will continue to serve as an example for future Allied Members and leaders within the trucking industry,” said Chairman Mathews.
