8:00am Welcome: Ed Brady, SMC Chairman

8:30am Legislative Update -Tort Reform: John D. Esparza, TXTA President & CEO

9:30am US Dept. of Transportation: Representatives will address a number of topics to include Hours of Service, Entry Level Driver Training, Medical Evaluation Waivers, Crash Preventability Program evidence and other pertinent updates to the regulations.

10:30am Break - Exhibits

10:45am TX Dept. of Public Safety Update: Representatives with the TX Dept. of Public Safety will provide attendees an update on trucking issues and initiatives here in Texas including an update on CDL renewals. This session will allow attendees to discuss issues with the officials.

Noon - Lunch

1:30pm Texas Dept. of Motor Vehicles: This session will provide an update on a variety of issues including UCR, Permitting and enforcement. Also learn what changes may be occurring with TXDMV during the Legislative Session.

2:30pm Break – Exhibits

2:45pm Autonomous Trucks: Kodiak Robotics is developing autonomous long-haul trucks, optimized for highways. In this session, Kodiak will discuss why Texas has become the center of the autonomous trucking industry, highlight some of the technology currently being tested on Texas highways, and talk about what this technology means for Texas's trucking industry.

3:45pm Break – Exhibits

4:00pm Creating a Culture of Safe Driving: This session, presented by the National Safety Council, will address the need for a corporate policy, programs and practices within an organization that support safety while driving. Companies are faced with risk and increased exposure to liability based on employee driving behaviors. Best practices will be shared.

10:00am TXTA Safety Management Council: Certification Process, Awards & Programs This session will provide attendees information on the importance of the Certification Program and how you can become certified. In addition, the Awards and Programs that are available to members and how you can become involved. Driver of the Year, Distinguished Safety Award, Truck Safety Contest, Truck Driving Championships, Local Safety Councils and more will be discussed.

CANCELLATION POLICY Refunds will be made only upon written request only. Cancellations received two weeks prior to the seminar date entitle the registrant to a full refund. After that date, cancellations through the day of the seminar will be subject to a 35% administration charge. No-shows who fail to notify TXTA on the day of the seminar about their inability to attend will be charged the full registration fee.
